A recent studio session with Azlan & Syahida over at my studio at Solaris Dutamas. They have been coming to me since 2009 when Azfar was just 3 months old.

I am still recovering from the 4-day Punjabi Wedding celebration onslaught of Nimrit & Gurmit last week. A week has past and I am still tapping my fingers on the table to the beat of Bhangra!

Anyway, another sneak preview of what to come.

This was shot at 13th Floor of the Premiere Hotel in Klang, where the final event – the Groom’s Wedding Dinner Reception – was held. I wished that I had on my 24mm lens when capturing this image. But nevertheless, I am quite happy with this.

This was shot using available light with the table/study lamp on the far right as the light separating their hair from the background. And this shot was achieved in under 3 minutes.

I had a blast capturing moments and creating beautiful images of Nimrit & Gurmit’s Punjabi Wedding celebration that last 2 nights! The celebration was held at Muar (the bride’s side) and Klang (the groom side).

I was at Muar for two nights (and was assisted by Majid) and Nazir assisted me in capturing the celebration at Klang.

Below is the Same Day Slideshow that is premiering tonight (24 July) during wedding reception dinner.

What is a Same Day Slideshow (SDS)?
A SDS is a compilation of wedding event photos that are usually taken during the morning of the day – solemnization, church, tea ceremony, mehndi etc – to be shown during the evening reception on the same day. No major edits or enhancements on the photos will be done since most of the time I will only get couple of hours to compile, select, arrange, compose and encode the slideshow into DVD playable format.

SDS is not included in my package but it is an option for the couple to purchase as an additional investment. And the SDS will be given to the couple together with their album.

I was going thru my hard disk and I found couple of photos of Aizam & Hidayat that were previously unreleased.

They’d gotten married over a year ago and is expecting their first born at the end of July 2011.

These was taken at the Federal Mosque of Kuala Lumpur.

The Addicted to Love session was done a two weeks after their solemnization. Fresh and without interruption, I enjoy tremendously celebrating the love between these two newlyweds.

Why a session the day after? Or in their case, two weeks after?

Privacy and less interruption. They were not tired or rushing through session to be over with. I had an absolute 3 hours time with them, laughing, joking & monkeying around and I got to know Syaiful & Hezne even better. Translate that to stress free images that i’d managed to create during the session.

I always suggest to my couple to opt for a day after session. By investing on a separate day for their Post Wedding Portraiture session, they are guaranteed to have the time of their life with me.

Munirah approached me for a 1on1 Mentor Session where she had designed the syllabus herself. The exclusive and personal mentor session with her was wonderful because of the personal time she had with me.

She runs her own brand – www.tripletsplusone.com – and she was having challenges that needs solving. She listed down all the challenges and we sat down one whole day solving it one by one.

Then, I assisted her on her assignment where we had fun.

Personally, I prefer a private session with my students where I can give full attention. Furthermore, isn’t it fun when your teacher have only you to concentrate on?

It was about to rain. It was about to be an unsuccessful outdoor portraiture for both the couple and I.

And then, I wasn’t about to let the opportunity go to waste.

Hazlan & Liyana happily posed in the drizzle and got wet in the process.

And the result was worth it.
