It has been a busy end of October for my team & I. We will be covering a 3 day corporate event at PWTC starting tomorrow. We are nervous but ready nevertheless.

Everything has taken a back seat this last few weeks. Albums are far from being finished (Aizat – am getting there! will let you know ASAP), and at the same time, businesses are pouring in. Thank God for the energy that I have and the support of the team behind me.

I am proud to announce that I have two Junior Photographers working with me side by side – Nazir Azhari & Faris Fakri. They are working their way up with me to become an associate and a co branding with my studio, WOW Art & Photography. To start things off, we are running a November White Studio promotion just for my junior photographers all month long.

So far, I am excited with 2010. I’ve been working closely with a creative and talented designer on my branding. And after few brain storming with ideas and concept, I am pleased to revealed the new Hafiz Ismail Wedding Photography logo, as you can see above.

I am also working closely with a website designer for my new web portfolio which will be revealed soon. So stay tuned!

- Lowell video light on camera left; 45 degrees
- 1 SB900 on camera right; 45 degrees back of subject, 1/64th power, 50mm zoom, triggered by Pocket Wizard.
- shot using 85mm.
- EXIF – f1.8, 1/50s, ISO 100, WB fluorescent
- Room totally dark, only the Lowell was on.
- Sharpened only in Photoshop.

An experiment on mix lighting. I love to combine both video light and a flash.

Wau bulan (kite) is an intricately designed Malaysian moon-kite (normally with floral motifs) that is traditionally flown by men in the Malaysian state of Kelantan. It’s one of Malaysia’s national symbols, along some others being the kris and hibiscus. The reverse side of the fifty-cent coin of Malaysia (1989 series) features an intricately-decorated wau bulan with a hummer on top[1]. The logo of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is also based on this kite.

There are many type of wau in Malaysia. Each with its own specialty. Wau kucing (cat kite) and wau merak (peacock kite) are some of them.

Looking back at the photos that was taken during the trip, I am glad that I stayed focus and concentrate on my passion – photography.

I was appointed as the official photographer by ACCA Malaysia Sdn Bhd to cover the CFO Summit 2009 that was held 6 – 7 July 2009.

5. Selangor Legislative Assembly 50th Year Celebration Dinner with HRH Sultan Selangor
I was appointed as the official photographer by the Selangor Government for the 50th Year Celebration Selangor State Legislative Assembly Royal Dinner. HRH Sultan Selangor was there. Nazir Azhari was there as my backup photographer.

After the morning corporate shoot with Ernst & Young, I headed to PUNB office in Plaza Sentral for 1 hour portraiture session with Datuk Nasir Ahmad – the CEO. Remember the 3 minutes I had with him? Well, the editor wanted more.

Datuk is a friendly guy. It was not a rushing 1 hour. We ended up shooting and getting to know each other well. He is a natural in front of the camera!

The London editor wanted a shot against a white seamless so that the graphic department can use the photo creatively. So we brought along a white cloth to act as the seamless background.

He is planning to produce a book containing all his write ups on entrepreneurship – a compilation from all the newspaper article he has written for over 5 years.

A must in any publication – a “talking shot”.

Looking forward to read his book as it will be an inspirational guide to young entrepreneurs like me!

I had the opportunity to photograph Mr Ahmad Fuaad from Ernst & Young for ACCA this morning. We started at 830am and finished at 9.

It was an humbling experience to be working with a young and successful corporate figure. And he is into photography as well!

I didn’t bring my portable studio light this time. I used the Lastolite Hotshoe Ezy Box Softbox coupled with my SB800. Nazir was there to help me.

I have another session with the CEO of PUNB later.
