I was going thru my hard disk and I found couple of photos of Aizam & Hidayat that were previously unreleased.

They’d gotten married over a year ago and is expecting their first born at the end of July 2011.

These was taken at the Federal Mosque of Kuala Lumpur.

How time flies.

Sure it is, laughter is the best medicine! I had fun time laughing at Faisal’s antics and Ayza sweet innocent laughter during our outdoor sessions couple of months ago.

I truly had fund with these two. I couldn’t stop laughing thru out the sessions and it helped me in doing my work.

It doesn’t matter if my clients can’t laugh. I will make them laugh!

One of my goals in 2010 is to be able to travel and do destination portraiture. I would love to extend my services overseas and absorb all the different culture and sceneries. Hopefully, I can make it a reality in 2010.

I was in Terengganu last weekend for a wedding assignment. I love traveling and I love outstation assignments. I would take the opportunity to stay a bit longer after or arrive a bit earlier (like 2 days before) just to absorb the culture, take my time off and take a break.

Day 1 – Thursday
We took off from Shah Alam on Thursday at about 5pm and arrived at the bride’s house at 11pm. Basically, we went straight to our accommodation for the weekend once we arrived and slept like a dog til the next morning.

Day 2 – Friday
The solemnization was to be held right after Friday prayer so we had the morning to kill. Nazir & I went to breakfast – East Coast style. Nazir had Nasi Kerabu.

We went location scouting right after that.

Then off to the assignment til the evening.

We went out for dinner that evening. We headed to Seberang Takir to a place that Nazir had been before. Specialty – big glass fruit juices.

Day 3 – Saturday
The reception was held from morning til about 4pm.

We were free in the evening. We went out for a seafood dinner with Syahril & Farah – two friends of Ailin and our new friends. Unfortunately, it was raining heavily with thunderstorms and high winds that night. No photos. The seafood was good! And cheap too! 4 people = RM86.

Day 4 – Sunday
We took the newlyweds out for an fun funky outdoor session until 1pm. We had Syahril & Farah helping us out. I taught Farah the art of veil throwing. She’s a fast learner!

Syahril & Farah went back to KL the same day while we were too tired to drive back. So we stayed another night.

I went out at 6pm to try at Timelapse photography of The Floating Mosque.

Then the storm came in.

I had a simple dinner later with few friends.

Day 5 – Monday
We headed out of Kuala Terengganu at 9am. We drove slowly and stopped at couple of places.

Thanks to my Garmin, I’d marked few places for future references and for my future outdoor sessions in Terengganu.

We spent about 2 hour in Kuantan. Since it was an internetless weekend in Terengganu, we stopped by Starbucks in Kuantan to catch up with emails and whatnots. We left at about 4pm and arrived at WOW at about 7pm.

Tired but inspired.

Am looking forward to this weekend and the weekend after. I will be in Seremban this week and Kuala Kangsar the weekend after.

I love to travel!

Back when I had the opportunity of photographing Ayda & Ibrahim’s Outdoor Session, Ayda’s family joined together for the session.

It was hot and humid. Nevertheless, we had a blast making great family photos.

Ayda’s sister, Ayza and her husband will be the next in line – a post wedding outdoor session.

The tiredness from all the post processing and corporate work that I was doing since Monday made me decide to take it easy this weekend. I needed to jumpstart my creative juices back after a week of client-focused work. So I announced to Facebook on Saturday morning that I was looking forward to some outdoor portraiture with any interested parties.

Tapai messaged me on FB. He was interested so we met up at 4.15 at WOW. I know Tapai from all the way back during our Degree days in Multimedia University. We were on the SRC back then. Of course we stay in touch every now and then with gatherings and meet ups.

Tapai (or his real name – Tuan Faisal) is very active in theater. He has starrred in many plays and is quite passionate about it. He blogs at tapaitapai.blogspot.com.

So the session was more about experimenting with One Light. I needed to refresh all my knowledge on off-camera lighting and posing a model.

We headed down to an abandoned factory to do some rugged shots. We spent about an hour there and I had fun with the experiment.

Later we headed to top of a hill for sunset shots. Unfortunately the sunset was not that great; but nevertheless I had great shots when we were there.

We came back to WOW for a studio session – as Tapai needed couple of profile shots for his portfolio. I did some experimentation too.

We wrapped up at 9pm. It was a great impromptu session and I managed to jumpstart my creative juices – ready for the Wedding Photography assignments onslaught later in the coming months.

What I have learned?
1. I constantly need to jumpstart my creative juices by creating fun shooting opportunities for myself. Too much time for other people but no time for me is not good.
2. I need a videographer to video me while working. It would be a great tool for me to review myself at work. And of course, the videos can be used for this blog too.

This weekend is all about having fun. So, I am having another session tomorrow (Sunday) with Nazir.

I was at the 33rd Floor of Traders Hotel covering an event when an opportunity presented by itself.

Taken without a tripod. ISO was set to 800, f2.8, 1/15th second shutter at 17mm. Straight from the camera.

What a view….
