Hello.
A simple Marhabban* & Henna Night was held a night before the solemnization of Zairin and her fiancee, Amir. I was fortunate to be the official photographer for the simple ceremony and later, the Groom’s Reception at Istana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
I knew both of them since the beginning of the year when Amir contacted me; inquiring about my services for their engagement in February. We met and hit the right note. (More on this later).

*a marhabban session is where a group of women/men will come to the bride/groom’s house and sing praises to Allah and celebrate the bride/groom with Arabic/Malay Language poems.
After the marhabban, the henna ceremony was held in the evening. This was an event for close families and friends. Zairin had Rizalman made her dresses and did her makeup.
After the simple ceremony, Zairin had asked me to stayed back because she had one more dress change. Kind of like a surprise. And the dress is so gorgeous!
Their solemnization was held 2 days after these ceremonies. And I was back as their official photographer during Amir’s Reception at Istana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. I will post the images from the grand and gorgeous reception in the next post.
