What excuses do you have now?

Hello.

After the session with the Director General, I headed to Kajang for another quick session with Haw Chong Yan for ACCA Malaysia Focus magazine.

Chong Yan is a success story. He completed his ACCA course and now working his way up to greatness. He is young, ambitious and full of life.

And he is a deaf-mute.

It was a challenge for me in photographing him. If you have been photographed by me, you will know my style. I love to make jokes behind the camera to get that moment for my subject. I will interact with my subject in such ways so that I can get the best natural and candid expression from the subject.

The only way of communicating with Chong Yan is through writings on a piece of paper since I do not know sign language. So, I had to communicate differently while getting the money shot.

It was a quick session. One snap next to the window and couple of snaps while he was working. All in all, it was an experience and a challenge. But what’s life without that right?
